Report: Postecoglou’s decided ‘brilliant’ Spurs player can go this month; PL rival has already made approach

Eric Dier is currently the target of West Ham United, and Ange Postecoglou will decide the Tottenham Hotspur defender’s future before the January transfer window opens.

After the season, Eric Dier will become a free agent. It’s also significant that Ange Postecoglou hasn’t started him for Tottenham in a while, choosing to start Ben Davies and Emerson Royal at center back instead of him.

With that, it appears that Dier has no future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But perhaps he could yet remain in the Premier League with his next move.

West Ham make approach for Eric Dier

West Ham has reportedly spoken with Spurs on a potential Dier trade, per a Football Transfers report.

The England international is admired by David Moyes, who apparently feels that he shares many traits with Harry Maguire, who was on the verge of moving to the London Stadium this summer.

Meanwhile, Football Transfers reports that Dier may depart Tottenham in the upcoming weeks, as Postecoglou has already made the decision.

Deal may end up suiting all parties

Perhaps Dier isn’t a signing that will thrill West Ham supporters. The fact that he hasn’t played for Tottenham more during the period when they have been without their two first-choice center backs is not encouraging.

Nevertheless, West Ham won’t have to shell out a lot of cash to seal a deal. Spurs are aware that he has until the end of this month to reach a pre-contract agreement with a foreign team. So any charge would be advantageous.

And in the Premier League, Dier has been “brilliant” at his best. Over his career, he has participated in over 360 matches for Tottenham.

So, if they are able to come to an agreement, Moyes should be able to play to his strengths and prove to be another wise addition for the Hammers this month.
