Chris Sutton reacts to Kyogo Asian Cup snub
Yogo Furuhashi, a center forward for Celtic, scored a goal against Rangers on Saturday that could have been the goal of the season, yet he was left off of Japan’s Asian Cup 2024 team. Few anticipated the snub, especially in light of his weekend strike.
Though Celtic won’t be grumbling, Yogo will be deeply sad not to be able to attend the important competition. His goals could be important in January as he has been playing better lately.
Chris Sutton, a former Hoops striker, responded to the news on X. “This is a result for Celtic,” he remarked.
While Yogo’s availability after the winter break does not completely eliminate the necessity to buy a striker in January, Sutton is not incorrect. This month, supporters anticipate two to three noteworthy, first-team-ready acquisitions.
Although the positions that will be strengthened are yet unknown, there have already been connections to a center back and left back. Whatever transpires, the signings need to be prepared to enter the room, make an instant impact, and support The Bhoys in their title fight.

According to Scott Wright, Philippe Clement never fails to display his passion.
The Rangers manager presents a calm and collected image when he meets with the media to talk about sports and other unrelated topics, but in those private moments as well as on the training field, he demonstrates his enthusiasm and intensity. Wright thinks the Belgian’s actual self was shown on Saturday afternoon at Celtic Park, even though it may have been a little less private. The Belgian kicked every ball on the sidelines as the Gers lost 2-1 on derby day.
Since the manager took over, the winger has been impressed, and he is aware of the team’s growth over that period. Wright attributes this to Clement’s ideas and his eagerness to present them to his stars.
“Yes, the manager displayed his fiery side. This game brings that out in everyone,” Wright remarked following Clement’s Saturday booking for excessive passion. That’s what you hope to witness. He is an extremely driven manager. Though we can sense the intensity behind the curtain, you will only see his cold side. We all look forward to working with him in the future since he is a pleasure to work for. Do we enjoy watching that fervor from the sidelines? Yes, without a doubt. He is leading his team when they are on the field.
“Although he is unable to play on the field, he will still try his hardest to support us there. Under him, we are undoubtedly developing as a team. The manager wants the supporters to feel proud of their team. Trying to build on what we have been creating is the situation.
“With more time to spend on the training pitch with the manager during the January break, you can probably expect to see a clearer picture of what the manager is looking for.” The additional time will be crucial. His concepts are evident in the games, but there are a lot of them, so it’s challenging.
“We want to put together a team that he wants to watch on the field, and the break will be crucial for us as a team.”
