Nottingham Forest transfer update as Evangelos Marinakis completes move

Nottingham Forest associated Gelson Martins is reportedly on his way to Olympiacos.

Prior to the January transfer window, there were rumors circulating that Forest was keeping an eye on the Portuguese, as Nuno Espirito Santo was probably going to bring in players to assist him salvage the season for the team.The team was reportedly in “advanced negotiations” to sign Martins, according to reports from Portugal.

He will now, however, become a member of Evangellos Marinakis’ Greek club. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says the winger will sign a two-year contract that runs until 2026 and that Monaco will have a 10% sell-on clause.

Journalist Konstantinos Lianos adds in another place that, following an agreement between the parties, he is due in Greece this afternoon to finish medical testing.

Reds fans responded to the news in many ways on social media. “And so it begins,” one person remarked, while another stated, “This is because we are getting [Fabio] Carvalho.”

A third said, “That makes sense. The notion of playing in the Premier League was strange for him because of his lack of playing time this season. especially since Nuno wishes to reduce the size of the squad.”

One more said, “Glad, I wasn’t keen to be honest,” and a fifth asked, “I wonder if he was ever coming here?” Seems not to be a good fit.”
