Sky Sports journalist now shares what he’s hearing about Eric Dier live from Tottenham’s training ground

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridges claims Tottenham Hotspur have explored the possibility of including Eric Dier in a deal to sign Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.

Bridges provided an update on Dier’s future from the Tottenham training facility during his appearance on Sky

Sports News this morning.

Dier, 29, has slipped down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou, and Spurs are looking to transfer him before tonight’s deadline.

He has yet to play for the Australian this year and has now been left off of four matchday teams.

Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth appears to be the replacement target for Tottenham in place of the Englishman.Spurs have reportedly already made a bid to sign Kelly today, according to The Athletic.

When Dier’s contract expires, Bridges believes that while Tottenham has looked into the prospect of include him in a swap deal, the defender is eager to relocate to Europe.

Bridges on Dier future

Before tonight’s deadline, Bridges gave an update on Dier’s future in a Sky Sports interview.

The journalist replied, “Now the interesting one is Eric Dier.” We know that Spurs have discussed the possibility of Dier and Lloyd Kelly leaving Bournemouth with the club.

According to what I understand, Dier wants to remain here until the conclusion of his contract and may then look to join a European team.

If Spurs could find a way to include Dier in a deal to sign Kelly, that would be great.

But it’s hard to fault Dier for wanting to consider his options and hold out for a more significant move.

The Englishman’s deal is set to expire at the end of the season and he will undoubtedly receive more lucrative offers next summer.

Yet, Tottenham are clearly keen to offload him so it should be an intriguing few hours ahead when it comes to his future.
