West Ham United star Said Benrahma has just made a truly mind-boggling claim about the London Stadium.
Said Benrahma arrived at the London Stadium on loan from Brentford in October 2020. In January 2021, West Ham paid approximately £25 million to make Benrahma’s move permanent.
The Algerian player has played at the London Stadium for over three years, so he is well-versed in the atmosphere—or lack thereof, as it were.
Two weeks ago, the Hammers received firsthand instruction on the proper way to provide home support in Greece. Following the match, David Moyes even proposed that West Ham’s supporters emulate the positive atmosphere created by the Olympiacos supporters.

Give me a break, please! I would say that in the past seven years, the London Stadium has failed to create a positive atmosphere more than five times.
Are away team players finding it difficult to absorb it? Said, do me a favor! I can’t help but think of the Chelsea Carabao Cup match from 2016, the home victory over Tottenham in 2017, and the Europa League triumph over Sevilla in 2022.
Other than that, most of our home games are played in a place that resembles a morgue. We must acknowledge that it is nothing like Upton Park at all.
Although it should be the manager’s and the players’ responsibility to give the supporters something to cheer about, we are sometimes guilty of doing nothing more than waiting for that to happen.
Saying Benrahma’s remarks about the London Stadium were confusing to hear, I’m confident that the great majority of West Ham supporters will concur.
