West Ham inside sources shares update on takeover after £5.7bn twist – reports
Claret and Hugh share latest on West Ham United takeover rumours after Fabrizio Romano update
According to Claret & Hugh, the rumors that Sheikh Jassim would revive his interest in buying West Ham are “far from nailed on.”
On Saturday, October 14, Fabrizio Romano wrote that Sheikh Jassim’s £5.7 billion attempt to purchase Manchester United had failed.
If the transaction fell through, the Qatari would probably look at other Premier League clubs, BBC reporter Simon Stone informed Stretford Paddock in July.
Fingers crossed
Some wishful thinking is not harmful. West Ham is the ideal candidate for Sheikh Jassim to invest in if he wants to buy a Premier League team.
Similar to the Saudi ownership of Newcastle United, Liverpool may appear more tempting, but London Stadium has more potential.
Furthermore, as their fans never weary of telling them, the Hammers have won more recent championships than both Liverpool and Tottenham.
Being taken over by a wealthy individual like Sheikh Jassim would very probably translate into ongoing success; another example is Manchester City.
Far from being in a poor situation, the Irons are not right now, but it would be fantastic to see further money invested in the team.
There will unlikely be any further movement on the situation for a while, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on.
