Moyes fires back at his Kudus critics with bold statement

David Moyes, the manager of West Ham United, responded to those who had criticised Mohammed Kudus by making a highly outlandish claim about the team’s new star player.

Right now, there is a lot of enthusiasm surrounding West Ham, much of it thanks to the fantastic signing of Mohammed Kudus.

Hammers supporters have been ecstatic ever since the club, against all odds, managed to purchase the Ghanaian sensation from Ajax for £38 million in the summer.

However, David Moyes has gradually introduced the Black Stars phenomenon into West Ham’s games thus far.

One minute at Luton was followed by cameos from the bench in defeats to Man City and Liverpool as well as the win over Sheffield United last week.

Patience wearing thin among fans over new star boy

Kudus started in the wins over TSC Backa Topola, Lincoln, and Freiburg in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Before dominating the League One team, he scored twice in Europe and was hailed by 5 Live Extra analysts as the “best player on the pitch by some distance.”

West Ham supporters have been urging Moyes to start Kudus in the Premier League, where it matters the most.

Particularly given Michail Antonio’s inconsistent play and the fact that West Ham’s new-look front three looked much more fluid when he was away in Germany.

At the London Stadium, though, there was annoyance when Kudus was once again benched and only saw 15 minutes of action against Newcastle.

When he appeared in his most recent cameo and scored a fantastic first Premier League goal for the Hammers to save a well-earned point, West Ham fans felt vindicated.

Many spectators grumbled that he ought to have started or at least came on sooner. It was believed that would have resulted in West Ham winning the game.

But now, in response to angry fans, the manager has issued a statement.

‘Trust my process’ says Moyes as calls grow for Mo

West Ham manager Moyes responds to his Kudus detractors with a forceful statement.

Kudus needs to perform in order for the Hammers to get a Premier League start, so credit to BBC Sport for asking Moyes the question that fans truly want a response to.

The Scot’s response is for West Ham supporters to have faith in his method.

And despite the extent of interest in Kudus from Europe’s top, he is also certain that the much sought-after 23-year-old will remain with the club for years to come.

We are not in a big rush because Kudus will remain a part of the team for many years to come, Moyes said matter-of-factly.

“The team is getting good results (so there’s no need to change at the moment).

“But he can play a big role in the future.”
