‘Would be a good signing sky : Pundit think £50m player would be ideal for Postecoglou as Spurs, eye late move.
Mark Bosnich believes that Brennan Johnson would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur if they could agree a deal in the final week of the summer transfer window, but admitted that it is not the end of the world if they miss out either.
Bosnich was reportedly preparing to make a play for the Nottingham Forest star before the deadline when he spoke to Sky Sports News.
The Daily Mail claims that Tottenham will soon make a £50 million approach for Brennan Johnson. Additionally, as part of their bid, they might give players to Steve Cooper’s team.
According to The Times, Johnson is reportedly more interested in moving to Tottenham than some of the other possibilities that could be available to him this summer.
Bosnich backs Johnson to be a good signing for Tottenham
Johnson had a great first season in the Premier League, scoring eight goals to help Forest stay in the top division. And it’s obvious that he has a promising future.
Tottenham, on the other hand, needs more talent in the final third. It is clear that they have had a fantastic start to the current campaign. But Richarlison is receiving flack. And with Harry Kane leaving, Spurs have probably lost their finest player in history.
Regarding his countryman’s attempt to acquire Johnson in the closing hours of the window, Bosnich was questioned. And he asserted that if he relocates to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he might be someone who might have a significant impact.
“I believe he will be a wise signing. They require protection. This is not meant as a slight against Richarlison. But they require protection. They require a few more choices, he said Sky Sports News.
“In general, I thought Richarlison played well throughout the weekend. When you first begin playing in that position, it can be challenging to replace someone who has long been a true club legend and among the best in the world. That would be a terrific signing, in my opinion.
“Ange is a versatile player. It is always based on the type of players he has available. He would have a lot more possibilities as a result, in my opinion. However, if they don’t also capture him, it won’t be the end of the world. They can always wait until the midseason transfer window and do nothing.
Bosnich’s perspective most likely captures how many Tottenham supporters feel about the possibility of acquiring Johnson. In the end, it would be encouraging to close the window with one more signing, especially in light of how well business has been thus far this summer.
And it does appear necessary that they bring in a second assailant. Johnson is not yet a final product though. Tottenham should thus be considering other possibilities in case he is not signed.
