Report: Tottenham demanding big fee for 22-year-old, Daniel Levy won’t let him leave on loan again
Bryan Gil generated a lot of buzz when Tottenham acquired the youthful winger for £21.6 million in 2021.
Erik Lamela left, and he came from Sevilla after spending a great season on loan at Eibar.
Sadly, he failed to make a league start in his first six months with the team and was loaned out to Valencia, where the supporters soon warmed up to him.
At the beginning of the last campaign, Antonio Conte was quite critical of Gil, implying that the Premier League wasn’t a viable choice for him.
He went out on loan again in January to Sevilla and started the Europa League final as they went on to win the trophy once again.
Sevilla are now keen to sign Gil on loan again from Tottenham, but Daniel Levy now wants a large fee for the 22-year-old.
The club aren’t keen to see him depart temporarily for a third season in a row.
Tottenham want a high price for Gil.
According to the report from ABC de Sevilla, the Spanish team is currently having issues on the left wing.
Bryan Gil is one of the options they are taking into consideration to fill the void.
They want the 22-year-old back after he made an impression during his six months at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan last season.
Gil, though, is only wanted on loan by Sevilla for another year since they are aware that Tottenham will demand a high price for him.
It’s understandable why Daniel Levy and Spurs aren’t very excited about this result.
They’ve spent a large fee on Gil and will be reluctant to allow the club they bought him from to continue using him long after selling him.
Gil needs playing time, though, and Manor Solomon’s acquisition this summer may have knocked him lower down the list of priorities.
He fits Ange Postecoglou’s system quite well in terms of style.
Sadly, his current injury may thwart any plans for him to move on this summer.
That might turn out to be a blessing in disguise because he might be able to gain a spot on the team once he returns to training.
