Tottenham expected to make cash offer for enormous defender in coming days – Report
Tottenham Hotspur are now expected to ramp up their move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo with a bid this week.
Tosin Adarabioyo is still a top target for Tottenham Hotspur, and a bid might be made this week.
According to a report from Football London, Tottenham will now likely make an offer for Adarabioyo in the upcoming days.
Tottenham will formalize their’strong interest’ in Adarabioyo this week, according to reports.
Spurs are hoping to add two center backs this summer, but they have had trouble bringing in top targets.
Even if Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven have been mentioned, there is no longer any talk of them joining the team.
Adarabioyo, whose contract with Fulham expires this year, may now be the focus of Tottenham’s attention. He appears to be a sale candidate.
One potential problem is that Monaco have also been chasing Adarabioyo this summer.
They view Adarabioyo as a replacement for Axel Disasi, who is on the verge of signing for Chelsea.
Foot Mercato even reported last week that Tottenham had made an offer to Adarabioyo but he preferred a move to Monaco.
That means Spurs will have to pull out all the stops to land Adarabioyo with the Premier League kick off drawing closer.
Tosin Adarabioyo makes sense for Tottenham Hotspur
We can understand if Tottenham fans maybe aren’t totally excited about a deal for Adarabioyo.
The 25-year-old has been solid if unspectacular for Fulham and certainly doesn’t bring the star power of Tapsoba or Van de Ven.
However, Adarabioyo ticks a number of boxes for Tottenham, including his Premier League experience.
Adarabioyo is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall and brings something completely different to Tottenham’s current defenders.
Adarabioyo is also a homegrown player and his pace would be welcome to the Spurs back line.
Add in that Ange Postecoglou – formerly of the City Football Group – may well be aware of former Manchester City talent Adarabioyo and we can see the thinking.
Spurs should be able to afford a deal with Fulham but the task will be to convince Adarabioyo to snub Monaco this summer.
