‘Major fan’: Ian Wright blown away by £40k-a-week Tottenham man who is ‘underrated’
Ange Postecoglou is doing a fantastic job at Tottenham Hotspur, according to Ian Wright.
The Greek-born Australian, who joined from Celtic in the summer and won the domestic Triple, has won over supporters like never before.
Wright stated that the work Ange Postecoglou is doing is “underrated,” as he told Premier League Productions (02/10/23 at 2:20 pm), noting that Tottenham is undefeated after seven Premier League games and is second in the standings.
Ange Postecoglou didn’t join a squad that was winning or playing this incredible brand of football; just the contrary, in fact.
And to add insult to injury, just days before the new campaign begins, Tottenham loses Harry Kane, their club-record goal scorer and talisman, to Bayern Munich.
Ange Postecoglou and his players don’t appear to have been bothered by all of this, as they are succeeding after their dramatic, extra-time victory over Liverpool on Saturday.
‘Underrated’ Postecoglou, Ange
It’s underappreciated, according to Wright. “He is currently making an underappreciated effort.
Major admirers of Ange Postecoglou. He needs to start strong, many said from the beginning, in my memory.
“You want the players he has to perform well, win some games, and other stuff. But I didn’t anticipate it to be there so quickly or in the grove it is today.
“Not just physically, but also mentally. They are experts at what they do, and we are considering a group that will only become better with Bentancur’s return.
Postecoglou’s play-style for Tottenham
This is a great start for everyone connected to the club, from Postecoglou’s personnel management to the footballing philosophy he has introduced to Hotspur Way.
The manager gets the highest respect because despite earning £40k a week (according to the Daily Record), he hasn’t wallowed in self-pity over losing a player like Harry Kane. Instead, he has remained upbeat and genuinely believed he could get the best performance out of this group of players.
During Postecoglou’s years as a manager, he has always been a part of rebuilding jobs, something he seemingly thrives off, and he is showing signs of that once more.
