Arsenal and Tottenham told to sign ‘unplayable’ star who ‘doesn’t even know his best foot’
Ousmane Dembele, according to Chelsea legend Frank LeBoeuf, would be ideal for Arsenal or Tottenham. LeBoeuf believes the Frenchman will thrive in the Premier League if he can find a consistent streak. The Frenchman recently joined PSG in the summer, but hasn’t had the best of starts.
“The best players score goals consistently, including Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe, Lewandowski, and Haaland. There will always be questions about Dembele, whether he plays for Arsenal or Tottenham.
Before deciding to join Paris Saint-Germain for an estimated £43.7 million, Dembele reportedly turned down three contract offers from Barcelona. The Catalonians wanted to keep hold of their star winger but couldn’t take the chance of losing him for nothing when his contract expired in the summer.
Dembele, Gavi, and Raphinha were reportedly included in a swap trade offer for free agent striker Kylian Mbappe in the summer, but PSG rejected the offer and instead signed the former Borussia Dortmund forward outright, according to the French publication La Parisien.
Dembele’s existence at Parc des Princes has had a difficult beginning. In seven games for PSG, he has failed to score, and his numbers are inconsistent as well.
With 57.86 passes attempted per 90 minutes, Dembele is more active in build-up play than he has ever been. He also has a strong pass success ratio of 82.8%. His chances created rate has also increased to 4.5 per 90 minutes, which is a career high.
However, there has been a noticeable decline in his finishing. Dembele had a shot success ratio of 50% when he was at the height of his abilities, but that number has dropped dramatically to 23.08 percent in his first seven games for PSG.
There are encouraging signs for Dembele in terms of his creative spark, but he will need to score more goals for the Ligue 1 champions to be considered a successful summer transfer.
