Tottenham are close to completion with the ‘phenomenal’ 65-cap player’s transfer.
According to reports, Hojbjerg was drawn to joining Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Now, it looks like both the player and the La Liga side will get their wish. According to 90min, Tottenham are looking to finalise the sale of Hojbjerg to Atletico Madrid.
Apparently, Spurs had a valuation of £40million for the player, but Atletico are not going to pay above £30million. Despite this, it looks like the Spanish club will be getting their wish as other teams haven’t entered the race and this will cause Spurs to reduce their valuation.
Hojbjerg likely to head to Atletico Madrid
This will no doubt be a big loss for Spurs this summer. Hojbjerg was definitely seen as a key player and featured in 35 Premier League games last season.
The 27 year-old will be missed but if he were to leave it feels like the perfect time for him to do so would be this summer.
New manager Ange Postecoglou is trying to rebuild the squad and with them making some top signings already, there is no doubting that they could find a good replacement for Hojbjerg.
It is a big summer for the club. With them trying to get back to battling near the top, they need to make sure that they do not have players who aren’t committed. VIEW MORE
‘Everything suggested’ player was set to join Tottenham – Now Saudi move is beClement ing arranged
Even though Lenglet returned to Barcelona following his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, there had endless reports that the defender would make a return to London.
Reports from the English and Spanish media claimed Spurs were working to have the 28-year-old back, and an agreement with the Camp Nou side wouldn’t be difficult.
However, as now reported by Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham may not his destination, as Lenglet could end up in Saudi Arabia.
The outlet writes that Barcelona are currently negotiating his transfer to Al-Nassr, and talks are advanced.
Mundo Deportivo point out that ‘everything suggested’ the player would move to Tottenham, but the Saudi club now shows up willing to pay him a big salary.
Barcelona, as usual, aren’t expecting a big sale, but are happy to get rid of the player’s wages.
The report makes it sound like there’s little left for the agreement to be made, and that will the end of Tottenham claims.
Spurs are still to invest in a centre-back this summer, and may now have to change targets.
