Life after Declan Rice has currently faired pretty well for David Moyes and West Ham United as they sit sixth in the Premier League table.
James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez, the midfield additions made during the summer transfer window, have both performed admirably thus far, aiding the Hammers’ advancement in Europe.
However, sources have told HITC Football that David Moyes is now eager to sign Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder for Manchester City, to a contract with West Ham United this month.
Former Championship boss Gary Rowett said on the Transfer Show on Sky Sports that he thought it was a “very good move” and that he could cover for Declan Rice’s summertime departure.
After signing the 28-year-old midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, Pep Guardiola made a terrible decision. In the roughly eighteen months since then, he has played 911 minutes in all competitions.
To put that into perspective, James Ward-Prowse, who came to the Hammers from Southampton, the relegated team, in the summer, has played slightly more than 2,500 minutes this season.
The former Leeds United player’s game definitely needs some life put back into it, and Gary Rowett believes a move to the London Stadium would be beneficial for everyone.
Kalvin Phillips at West Ham United
According to Rowett, “I think it would be a very good move for both.” Maybe there’s still a little time till Declan Rice moves in the summer.
“If you go back a few years, you can see how well Phillips and Rice were playing together for England and how they were probably on par at that time.”
However, if you can secure a loan for Kalvin Phillips. Someone who can’t wait to get into the game. He is eager to introduce himself to everyone and will be chomping at the bit. It fits West Ham tremendously, really nicely, in my opinion. It differs slightly from what they provided.
The only player they really have in that role who can cause some disruption in midfield is Soucek. He’s an all-action midfielder, so I believe it would be a really smart move. A tiny piece of silt. He is also a talented musician. He is incredibly talented technically and possesses the leadership traits that a team like West Ham needs to attempt to push into the top half of the Premier League.
Kalvin Phillips for England
Gareth Southgate still picks Phillips for England, even at the most recent World Cup, despite the lack of playing time.
It’s likely that this pattern will carry over until Euro 2024, especially if players like the unpicked Ward-Prowse have such outstanding performances.
Phillips needs to make this transfer immediately in order to receive some much-needed playing time and be ready for the Euros.
There’s a good chance Southgate will start Phillips in Germany with his longtime friend Rice if that occurs.
