TIMO WERNER DISCUSSES HIS FIRST IMAGINATIONS OF TOTTENHAM’S STADIUM
Timo Werner, the new striker for the Spurs, says that even many years ago, playing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium held special meaning for him.
Timo Werner, the striker for RB Leipzig, has returned to the Premier League, becoming Tottenham’s first acquisition of the January transfer window.
After barely eighteen months gone, Werner has signed to play on loan for the remainder of the season in English football.
The 27-year-old was a goal machine for RB Leipzig before joining Chelsea in 2020.
The transfer didn’t exactly work out, though, and in 2022 they returned to RB Leipzig before joining Tottenham in the Premier League once more.
Remarks from Timo Werner regarding Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Werner’s departure will not be welcomed by everyone considering his unsatisfactory tenure at Chelsea and his lack of starts for RB Leipzig this year.
With his quickness and agility, Ange Postecoglou might think he can help Werner get back on track, especially with this Tottenham team.
Now that he has moved, Werner has spoken out about it and called attention to his new surroundings in North London.
Numerous targets on the Spurs’ radar will be drawn to Tottenham since they have one of the best stadiums in the world.
Werner recently stated on Tottenham’s official website that he fell in love with the stadium “straight away” after playing there and helping RB Leipzig win in February 2020.
Between now until the summer, the new Spurs player is eager to perform in front of his new supporters and is thrilled to call Tottenham home.
“The games here in the Champions League, which was, I believe, my first game in England when (RB Leipzig) played in the new stadium, were always very close matches against Tottenham,” Werner remarked.
“Right away I adored it; playing and scoring there was truly something special. Now that this stadium is my home, it is even more wonderful, and I hope to return to play there as I did when I played for other teams. Being the home team, Spurs should have even greater significance when they score. and to have the whole crowd behind you when you score is even better. I’m really looking forward to the games,” he added.
Werner will have to wait for his home debut this weekend as Spurs are away to Manchester United.
Werner, on the other hand, seems eager and, having loved his visits to Tottenham in the past, he intends to settle in North London permanently going forward.
