Sad news: Tottenham’s key player to leave soon

Talks about leaving Tottenham, but pundit has “concerns” about the January deal

Eric Dier is reportedly close to joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur, but Didi Hamann is “concerned” about the Premier League benchwarmer moving to Germany.

Hamann’s reservations are unrelated to Eric Dier’s competence.
He claims that the England international has many of the qualities Bayern Munich is seeking in a center-half, including a commanding physical presence and a strong sense of discipline both on and off the field.

However, after a dismal half-season at Tottenham Hotspur under Ange Postecoglou, in which he seldom booted a ball in anger, how long would it take Dier to acclimate to life at the Bundesliga leaders?

Eric Dier of Tottenham speaks with Bayern Munich

Speaking to Sky Germany, Hamann expressed his belief that Bayern might not see their greatest player until the following season at the latest.

The former midfield player for Manchester City, Liverpool, and New York United starts, “I have my doubts as to whether he will help Bayern.”

He had a very successful spell four or five years ago. He was a crucial member of the national squad at the time. He has only made four appearances this year and has not had a part.

“Bayern Munich needs him as a player, given his profile. He is incredibly disciplined, skilled in the air, and powerful in combat. Whether he is currently in a position to assist Bayern is still up in the air. It takes two or three months to get back into the groove if you haven’t played for six months or have played very little.

“The season is virtually done if he requires two or three months. This is the reason I’m worried.

Is a Harry Kane reunion imminent?

HITC Football is aware that Dier and Bayern have had discussions. In Bavaria, the adaptable defender and his former Tottenham teammate Harry Kane might get back together. Dier is someone Thomas Tuchel is familiar with from his days in the Premier League; Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea is another player that is being considered.

Tottenham is also not expected to get in Dier’s way. His deal is set to expire in the summer, and Spurs are still in negotiations to sign Radu Dragusin, a Genoa player valued at £26 million, as a potential successor.

HITC has been informed that Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon are anticipated to leave as well.
