Manchester City evaluating deal after presented signing opportunity – Manager gives transfer approval
Manchester City are edging closer to completing a blockbuster £116 million (€135.4m) deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, but the Premier League giants are not expected to stop there. Despite securing one major midfield addition, the club remain eager to strengthen further ahead of the new campaign.
The Citizens had explored the possibility of signing Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali, but the Italian international now appears destined for Tottenham Hotspur, forcing City to turn their attention elsewhere.
One player now under consideration is Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. According to reports from Spain, the French international has been offered to Manchester City after falling down the pecking order under new Real Madrid boss José Mourinho.
The report claims Mourinho has not been fully convinced by Camavinga’s performances in recent seasons and has approved the midfielder’s departure this summer. Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to sell the 23-year-old in order to raise funds for a new midfield signing, a position Mourinho considers a priority to strengthen before the season begins.
Manchester City are now assessing whether to pursue a move for Camavinga or continue focusing on alternative targets. The France international remains under contract with Real Madrid until 2029, with his market value estimated between €50 million and €60 million. However, City could face stiff competition, as Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with the talented midfielder.
Meanwhile, City’s recruitment team are also closely monitoring Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old has impressed for both club and Morocco during the World Cup, attracting interest from several leading European clubs.
Reports suggest Manchester City have already opened discussions with Lille and are weighing up whether to integrate Bouaddi into Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad immediately or allow him to remain in France on loan for another season to continue his development.
Should City make significant progress in their pursuit of Bouaddi, it is believed their interest in Camavinga could cool, leaving the Real Madrid midfielder to consider other Premier League options this summer.
