Breaking News: Levy walks from players transfer demands due to…..

Club slap a whopping €100m price tag on 20-year-old Englishman wanted at Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham

An outstanding start to the season under new manager Arne Slot has allowed the Liverpool hierarchy more breathing space following an underwhelming last summer transfer window.

The Merseyside giants are flying high at the top of the Premier League table but that hasn’t stopped the recruitment team from working hard behind the scenes to identify transfer targets.

Liverpool will look to sign a defensive midfielder in the summer with Wataru Endo expected to leave on a permanent transfer and Tyler Morton likely to be loaned out with Leeds interested in him.

However, conversations are happening behind the scenes about what they would do next summer especially if Mohamed Salah leaves the club on a free transfer window.

Liverpool are calm about the winger’s future but are identifying potential replacements and Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens is one of the players the club are tracking.

Massive price tag slapped on the Liverpool target

He was part of the Manchester City academy before Dortmund signed him in 2020 and has emerged as one of the most exciting wingers in the Bundesliga this season.

The Englishman has been linked with a return to his homeland where Liverpool are amongst the clubs who are considering signing him.

Chelsea, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace are also keeping tabs on Gittens.

Previously it was assumed that it would take at least €60m to snare him away from Dortmund but the price tag is much higher.

According to the German daily Bild (via fusball transfers), the Bundesliga giants are likely to demand as much as €100m before agreeing to sell Gittens.

With more Premier League clubs entering the fray for Gittens, Dortmund are convinced that they could get the price they want for him next summer.

Gittens still has four years left on his contract and Dortmund are under no pressure to sell him for a reduced fee at this stage.

It remains to be seen whether any club would be prepared to fork out such a sum for a player who has scored nine times in 68 senior appearances for Dortmund.

Liverpool are also looking at Gittens’ teammate, Karim Adeyemi, as a potential replacement for Salah but there are question marks over his long-term fitness.
