Report: Nottingham Forest back in for £7m player who rejected them last summer, Nuno really keen
Nottingham Forest want to sign Jose Sa from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window.
That is according to Football Transfers, which has reported Nuno’s stance on Sa.
So, what has been reported about Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Jose Sa? Let’s take a look.
Nuno wants Nottingham Forest to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa
Football Transfers reports that Nottingham Forest want to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jose Sa this month.
According to the article, Nuno, who took over as Forest manager last month after Steve Cooper left, wants to add Matt Turner as an upgrade.
Turner, the goalie for the USA national team, moved from Arsenal in the summer of 2023. He has made several crazy errors this season, one of which was against Manchester United last month.
According to Football Transfers, Nuno is “keen” to get Sa to the City Ground.
According to the source, the 30-year-old Portuguese international declined the opportunity to sign a new long-term contract with the Wanderers before moving to Forest in the summer of 2023. He has been with Wolves since 2021, when he came from Olympiakos for £6.85 million (Sky Sports).
Jose Sa would make Nottingham Forest better
Jose Sa, in my opinion, would make a fantastic addition to Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window.
Sa has performed admirably for Wolverhampton Wanderers throughout the years and has more Premier League experience than Matt Turner. The Portuguese player has so far in his career made 91 appearances in the Premier League. In those games, he has provided one assist while keeping 24 clean sheets.
The Reds ought to strike a deal if Nuno feels that Sa will improve the goalkeeping for his Forest club.
Turner is a capable goalie, but Forest—who has also been connected to Keylor Navas—would be better suited using him as Sa’s backup.
