Player ‘wants to leave’ Aston Villa – Keen on walking out next month, agent ties key
Four days ago, we relayed news from Italy that AC Milan have their eyes set on Aston Villa’s Clément Lenglet.
Il Mattino announced on Monday that Napoli has entered the running to sign the defender, who is currently on loan from Barcelona at Aston Villa. Calciomercato relays this information and goes on to detail Milan’s intentions to sign the 28-year-old.
Jakub Kiwior has been coveted by Stefano Pioli’s team, but according to the most recent reports in the Italian media, there is “no possibility” that the Pole will leave Arsenal.
According to the report, the Rossoneri have turned their attention to the Frenchman in light of this circumstance. The player “wants to leave” Aston Villa in the winter transfer window, according to Unai Emery, who has only used him in the UEFA Europe Conference League this season.
The center defender will “probably” return to Barcelona, according to Calciomercato, and he is anticipated to depart once more in January. Milan plans to “make an attempt” to sign him to a contract that includes a buyout option. His annual salary of €6 million presents a “obstacle” for the San Siro team.
Wasserman is the player’s manager at Aston Villa, and the agency enjoys a cordial relationship with the Italian team. This “may favour the success of the operation” to bring Lenglet to the San Siro, according to the outlet.
Milan appears to have gotten in touch with his agents in an attempt to reach a new settlement and persuade Barca to cover a portion of his compensation.
Lenglet ‘wants to leave’ the Villans and it needs to see what Unai Emery and Aston Villa director Monchi have to say on his potential exit next month.
Another Aston Villa star ‘highly rated’ by Arsenal amid Douglas Luiz interest
Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey.
The Daily Mail claims that the 22-year-old is “highly rated” by the hiring team, which supports their assertion. Having come through Villa’s system, Ramsey has made an impression and is well-liked by the team.
Given his availability, Arsenal is rumored to be searching for Thomas Partey’s replacement. This season, he has only appeared in five games and is presently out due to a hamstring injury.
Despite Mikel Arteta’s admiration for Partey, his injury issues since joining the Emirates in 2020 are said to “have cast doubt” over his long-term future there. Apart from Ramsey, who has a contract that expires in 2027, it is rumored that the Gunners are considering Joao Palhinha of Fulham, although his age of 28 “doesn’t fit the club’s recruitment strategy”.
With that said, Everton’s Amadou Onana is also reportedly being watched. Arsenal still have Douglas Luiz placed high up their list, too.
The Brazilian was the subject of deadline day bids from the north London side last year but has since committed to a new long-term contract at B6. Similarly to Luiz, Villa have no intention to sell their academy graduate, Ramsey.
