‘More than anything’ – Journalist names one attribute Postecoglou is looking for in a January signing
Journalist Dean Jones has said that when it comes to signing a forward in January, the number one quality that Ange Postecolgou is looking for in the potential newcomer is versatility.
Postecoglou is hopeful that Tottenham will acquire a striker in January, according to a report we shared this week from The Daily Mirror.
As to the site, the Lilywhites are still interested in Ivan Toney, but Brentford is determined to maintain their star player, and they are also closely monitoring Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord.
Prior to January, Saudi Pro League teams are showing interest in Richarlison, who Tottenham is willing to let go of, according to a report from Football Insider earlier this week.
Spurs are anticipated to accept any substantial offer for the Brazilian, according to the outlet, and utilize the money to recruit a top center back.
Postecoglou is looking for a forward with versatility.
Jones has since clarified, though, that Postecoglou would want to sign a flexible attacker who can play anywhere in the front three. The reporter implied that if Richarlison stays put, the North London team would not think about acquiring a center-forward.
Jones stated to GiveMeSport, “It’s an adaptation, and what they want above all else is versatility.” That’s really all it takes to be a forward for Tottenham at the moment. They seem to be looking for someone who can fill both the more peripheral positions and, if feasible, take on the lead role.
“Son will, nine times out of ten now, be the man who gets through the middle,”
“They still have Richarlison on the books. If Richarlison leaves then I think they go and get a more central forward, because they’re going to be short and they’ll need somebody that can go into the area.
“But if Richarlison sticks around, which at the moment is looking the most likely case then I think it’ll be someone that plays around the centre forward.”
