‘unbelievable’ BBC pundit wowed by Son Heung-min among Tottenham trio, red-card admission shared
Alan Hutton has sung high praises of Son Heung-min, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie after their performances in the 4-1 win over Newcastle United.
Both Udogie and Porro effectively played as the full-backs, with Udogie scoring the team’s opening goal and Porro setting up Richarlison for an assist.
Son’s performance also left Hutton speechless, as the South Korean international set up two goals and then scored a penalty kick in the 85th minute.
Despite this, the former right-back acknowledged that Cristian Romero’s foul on Callum Wilson may have warranted a red card.
“They have four losses and a draw in their last five games, so they need to win their match against Newcastle,” Hutton told Tottenham News.
“I thought everybody turned up. Son was unbelievable and the two full-backs (Porro and Udogie) were unbelievable.
“There could have possibly been a red card in there for Cristian Romero but Richarlison came in, ran about, worked himself in the ground and this is what you need to play in an Ange Postecoglou team.
“When he gets it right and everybody’s pulling in the same direction, this is the kind of performance you can have.
“I know they conceded towards the end but it was four goals and a right good performance.”
Tottenham had been unbeaten all season in the Premier League before losing four of their five matches before playing Newcastle at the weekend.
As it stands, Spurs are fifth in the league, three points shy of fourth-placed Manchester City, who have just one win in their last five.
Next up for the Lilywhites is a trip to the East Midlands to play against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Friday night (15 December).
