Gary Lineker and Micah Richards share ‘Massive Concern’ at West Ham after what they’ve witness
During an episode of The Rest is Football, Gary Lineker and Micah Richards discussed a “massive concern” they had observed at West Ham United this season.
After a patchy season, the Hammers are presently in ninth place in the Premier League and are expected to advance from the Europa League group stages.
However, following the team’s one clean sheet in the Premier League this year, both Lineker and Richards expressed concern for David Moyes before projecting the team to finish in the middle of the table.
“I mentioned mid-table, and Alan concurred. In actuality, all three of us said mid-table, and they are currently in ninth place, which is extremely near to mid-table, according to Lineker.
They’ve played some really good games and some really bad ones, in my opinion. I believe Jarrod Bowen has been really good; he has eight goals and eight assists so far this season. Ward-Prowse has proven to be a wise acquisition. However, they have only had one clean sheet so far this season, which raises some concerns, doesn’t it?
Micah Richards then spoke up and concurred, albeit with some compliments for Mohammed Kudus as well.
He said, “A huge worry because I have the goalie in my fantasy team,” and then erupted into one of his famous fits of laughter.
“I had assumed he would have a lot of spotless records and a typical David Moyes squad, but that hasn’t happened.
Kudus is one more to include in the mix. He has had a great game in the past few games.
Concern
With Alphonse Areola playing so well in Europe while we won the Conference League, many felt that Lukasz Fabianski was past his prime and that West Ham’s defensive woes from the previous season were due to him.
Even though their roles have been reversed this season, Areola is still the superior choice.
It goes without saying that a team like West Ham shouldn’t be content with just one clean sheet because that should be the foundation of the majority of our victories, but it’s also not his fault.
This season, the Frenchman has produced a number of outstanding saves to keep us in games. None of the goals have really been his fault, and there are instances when a goalkeeper is powerless to stop an opponent’s goal.
The Hammers’ supporters have faith in Areola in goal, and if we continue to play as we have this season, climbing the standings won’t take long.
