Report: Aston Villa receive two key injury boosts ahead of Tottenham clash
According to Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey and Alex Moreno could be in contention to return to the starting line up against Tottenham.
After breaking his metatarsal early in September, Ramsey has been sidelined for nearly ten weeks. The gifted midfield player has already played against Chelsea and Brighton off the bench, but he might be ready to start the match against Tottenham.
In 38 appearances in all competitions last season, Ramsey scored six goals and provided eight assists, making a significant contribution to Unai Emery’s team. He has made just three appearances this season and has one goal (Transfermarkt).
Injury concerns have dogged Aston Villa since the beginning of the current season. Due to a “significant knee ligament injury,” Emi Buendia would be out for the duration of the season.
Tyrone Mings sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury as well, and according to Guardian, he is not expected to play again this year.
After bouncing back from an injury and making the matchday squad the last time, Alex Moreno may be set to make his first game of the season against Tottenham, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Tottenham have their own share of injury issues
Tottenham has also experienced a difficult time with injuries. Like Buendia and Mings, veteran Ivan Perisic sustained an injury that will prevent him from playing for the majority of the season (Daily Mail).
While Guglielmo Vicario was forced to skip out on international duty after exhibiting flu symptoms this week, Richarlison, Ryan Sessegnon, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and Manor Solomon are all expected to miss extended amounts of time (Football. London).
Jacob Ramsey can impact games with his inventiveness, making him a tough player to play against. The 22-year-old also possesses the skill of frequently finding the back of the net. He is someone we need to be cautious around.
Regarding our own injury concerns, we’re hopeful Vicario is healthy enough to replace him in goal against Emery’s team.
As Rodrigo Bentancur gradually regains his full fitness, he may also play a bigger part. With a formidable Villa team, it could be a difficult match, and Ange Postecoglou will be anxious to win after losing his last two games.
