Report: Some within football already see Postecoglou as a candidate for big job

Journalist Miguel Delaney has written about the impact that Ange Postecoglou has had at Tottenham, remarking that the Australian is already being talked about as a potential future Man United manager.

In the four years following Mauricio Pocehttino’s dismissal, the Tottenham administration has appointed some unqualified managers.

Indeed, Daniel Levy acknowledged two months ago that Spurs was not the right place for Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte, despite the fact that both managers are excellent coaches (ESPN).

With Postecoglou radically changing the club’s atmosphere and playing the kind of game that the Tottenham supporters love to see, the North London team appears to have found the ideal candidate for the position.

The fact that Spurs supporters, who can be very demanding and impatient, praised the team for their effort off the field following their 4-1 loss to Chelsea on Monday demonstrates the positive vibe that the Australian has brought to N17.

Could Postecoglou manage Man United one day?

Delaney has suggested that Postecouglou’s early success at Tottenham may serve as evidence that managers do not necessarily need to have a great level of experience.

“A highly stratified game, especially at the top level, has become far too sniffy about big clubs and managerial CVs,” he wrote in his column for The Independent. Thinking beyond the box can lead to managers who do much more than just think creatively. Another one is Roberto De Zerbi.

Big-club experience is obviously significant at that level, but the fact that Postecoglou is even being discussed during the game as a potential future addition for Manchester United speaks plenty.

He demonstrates how personality may be just as significant as background. Certain coaches possess an innate sense and aptitude for overseeing locker rooms regardless of their location. It is clear that Postecoglou possesses both an extremely sharp tactical mind and an adventurous spirit.

Man United’s ability to get players and managers from Spurs is long gone. Without a doubt, just as most clubs do for players, Ange’s success will persuade other teams to search elsewhere for coaching skill in addition to the best players in the league.
