View: Dyche to give fan favourite rare start v Crystal Palace, Everton senior player to be axed

Amidst Ashley Young’s problems, Everton defender Seamus Coleman will start against Crystal Palace again.

Sean Dyche is expected to axe Ashley Young from the Everton starting XI v Crystal Palace after his disappointing display v Brighton.

Especially in the second half, Karou Mitoma intimidated the former England international, and it was his cross that ultimately caused Young to score an own goal.

Aside from that, he played very poorly in defense, and now that Seamus Coleman is back with the under-21 team, he might get a rare start—the first of the year.

Coleman played 45 minutes of the game, according to the Toffees website. Perhaps after another week of practice with the first squad, he’ll start a senior game.

The reason Dyche continues to select the former Manchester United player over Nathan Patterson is perplexing as he has just not been good.

Coleman’s return to the team will provide much-needed unity on the field, and the Toffees will undoubtedly gain from having another leader in the lineup.

It’s unclear if he’s prepared to play for the whole 90 minutes, but if not, at least giving him a head start might help him play for an hour.

Dyche cannot afford for Young to be singled out against Palace, as he was against Brighton.

They can collect as many points as possible from the match against Roy Hodgson’s team, therefore they must exert every effort to make it happen.
