Hammers on the brink

The Hammers’ once-positive season has taken a turn for the worst, and following yesterday’s defeat at Brentford, the media is once again pursuing David Moyes.

The Hammers were well ahead of Brentford at halftime thanks to goals from Kudus and Bowen, who had rallied from an early goal deficit.

When Bowen whipped a brilliant low cross across the box to where both Antonio and Benrahma were unmarked and seemed likely to make it 3-1, it looked like West Ham were finally going to earn a result against the Bees. However, they oddly contrived to get in each other’s way.

Unfortunately, two instances of bad defense later in the half meant that Brentford had lost in the league for the fifth time in a row. To be honest, Paqueta, Alvarez, and Zouma’s absences had a significant impact, but the Hammers should have won the game.

While Moyes’ team was pleased with their great victory over Arsenal in the midweek League Cup match, the Gods of Football rewarded them with a difficult quarterfinal trip to Anfield.

Therefore, finishing in the top six and winning the League Cup seem improbable right now. The game against Olympiacos on Thursday appears to be a pivotal point in the season! Now is the moment for the guys to put on their sleeves and exact a full revenge on the naughty Greeks!

Before Christmas, we might be eliminated from contention on every front if we perform like we did in Athens. It is difficult to imagine Moyes enduring such situation.
