WHO FIRED FOR SOUTH AFRICA
12. Andre Esterhuizen 7/10

10. Handre Pollard 7/10
In his first Test appearance in well over a year, Pollard needed a huge performance, and he delivered. The flyhalf exuded confidence and class even though his attacks weren’t particularly showy. He was strong in contact and had perfect form off the kicking tee. Overall, Pollard’s 50-minute performance was as strong as he could have hoped after being away from Test rugby for so long.
2. Deon Fourie 7/10
tirelessly in defense and defended himself against Tongans, the majority of whom were twice his size. In the scrums and at lineout time, Fourie performed his hooker responsibilities flawlessly. a try for the Springboks was scored in the first half off the back of a rolling maul.
1. Ox Nche 7/10
His excellent scrummaging did nothing to dispel the growing belief among Springbok fans that he is the best scrummager in the world.
WHO FLOPPED FOR SPRINGBOKS
15. Willie Le Roux 6/10
Le Roux almost never had a bad game when playing for the Springboks. Sadly, today was just another one of those days. In the first half, he made three clear blunders. To his credit, the player regarded as the best playmaker for the Springboks did atone for his mistakes in the second half with an outstanding try.
6. Siya Kolisi 6/10
Siya Kolisi would have hoped to have a greater influence in his 50th Test as the Springbok captain. But after struggling to produce the kind of play we are used to, he was replaced early in the second half.
