At Sunderland right now, he is thriving.

The 22-year-old scored twice, first from the penalty spot in the eighth and then again in the third minute.

With seven goals, Clarke has surpassed everyone else in the Championship right now.

Following the game, Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray praised Clarke.

According to Mowbray’s comments about Clarke, according to ChronicleLive, “He’s a terrific footballer, he’s incredibly positive, really confident at the moment.

“Something amazing has happened to Jack, and he is now playing with confidence and believe in himself, when I think back to when I was manager of Blackburn Rovers two and a half years ago and Jack Clarke was playing for Tottenham U23s and not receiving a kick against our young squad.

He occasionally makes it impossible to play because it’s unclear if he’s heading outside or inside.
