Tottenham fans have been left shocked by £22m player recently

Journalist Alasdair Gold claims Son Heung-min has ‘surprised’ people at Tottenham Hotspur recently.

In his most recent YouTube video, Gold claimed that officials at the club were amazed by how successfully Son had adapted to his new role as captain of Tottenham.

Son put in a strong performance on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick in Spurs’ rout of Burnley at Turf Moor.

After replacing Harry Kane as the team’s captain, the 31-year-old has yet to contribute to the goals this season.

Son, James Maddison, and Cristian Romero make comprise a new leadership team that Ange Postecoglou has put in place at Spurs.

And Gold claims Son has surprised people at Tottenham after really stepping up as the club’s new captain.

Son has shocked people at Tottenham

Son is “fully invested” in his new position as captain, according to Gold, who also discussed how the team has responded to Postecoglou’s replacement.

The journalist remarked, “I quite appreciate that Sonny has really stepped up to be the captain. “I am aware that he has served as the captain of South Korea in the past, and when he does that, there is certainly a lot of pressure on him.

But I do believe that people have been taken aback by how dedicated and effective a club captain he is on a daily basis.

A few players, including Destiny Udogie, mentioned him in his post-game interview; he’s just wholly committed to it. Everyone, including the players, staff, and club members, have been impressed by him.

Hugo Lloris’ replacement, Son, was unquestionably the logical decision after Kane signed a transfer to Bayern Munich.

Since joining Tottenham in 2015 for a reported £22 million, the attacker has often filled in for Kane when needed.

Given that Spurs lost their all-time leading goal scorer this summer, it seems appropriate that the South Korean superstar will guide the team into a new era.

Son is clearly taking to his new role with ease and it’s brilliant to hear he has impressed people inside the club.

Postecoglou has made the right decision by naming him as the club’s new captain and Spurs look rejuvenated under new management, alongside a new leadership group.
