Spurs remain intrested in player given “priority” for signing
Spurs have been given “priority” to sign the player, therefore Tottenham is still an option.
Clément Lenglet was registered with La Liga by Barcelona last Thursday, but AS stated on August 25 that Tottenham Hotspur might be his next likely destination.
The defender spent last season’s loan period with Spurs, and prior reports had indicated he is eager to return to the north London club.
state of play In the last days of the transfer window, Tottenham is one of the choices open to the 28-year-old.
Barca has made it a priority to get rid of the defender after realizing how difficult it would be to sell him for €15 million. To save on his pay, a loan relocation is therefore preferred.
According to reports, Barcelona’s ‘objective’ was to send the Frenchman back on loan to the Premier League team because he felt at ease there last season.
According to the newspaper, Barcelona also has other choices, such as sending him back to Sevilla. He wants to sign with the Andalusian club, but Sport claims they can’t pay his entire salary.
Tottenham remains a viable possibility for Lenglet, and his leaving process will’speed up’ over the next few days.
The ‘wonderful’ player, who has played for Ange Postecoglou this season, has recently received a £7.7 million bid from Tottenham.
With the transfer deadline coming up soon, Tottenham Hotspur has just received a bid for defender Davinson Sanchez.
Stade Rennais has reportedly made an offer for the Colombian international, according to a report from the French publication L’Equipe.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, appears to have decided who will be a key player this season and who won’t.
Several players need to leave Tottenham before the transfer window shuts since the team is now too crowded.
Several players haven’t participated in a single minute of competitive football this year.
While Manchester United has expressed interest in Sergio Reguilon, Japhet Tanganga and Eric Dier may also move on.
Davinson Sanchez is another player who might leave Tottenham this summer, and they have received a bid from Stade Rennais.
When Cristian Romero was injured on the first day of the season, Postecoglou turned to Sanchez.
It appears, though, that the ‘outstanding’ defender might be let to depart in the closing days of the transfer window.
Spurs get a bid for Sanchez
According to the L’Equipe report, Rennes has made an offer of £7.7 million for Sanchez.
Although Spurs haven’t yet commented, they apparently want up to £12.9 million to release the 27-year-old.
He has one year left on his contract, and Rennes could be able to persuade Tottenham to sell for as little as £8.5 million, so the two teams’ values aren’t that dissimilar.
Rennes has recently conducted business with Spurs, and they might believe that will help them close a decent deal.
Joe Rodon, a Welsh international who played 22 times for the French team, was acquired by them on loan last summer.
They then added Djed Spence in January as he was looking for first-team time, and he made the team before getting hurt.
The decision by Tottenham to accept a proposal for Sanchez without bringing in a replacement will be interesting to watch.
Although Postecoglou would prefer to add another defender, he is aware that he must change some of his present alternatives first.
