Deal Agreed: West Brom End Managerial Hunt as Championship Boss Accept Contract to Replace Mowbray After Talk

West Brom have held talks with the representatives of QPR boss Marti Cifuentes in their new manager hunt, according to Sky Sports.

West Brom have had a fairly disappointing campaign after what was a solid start. Under Carlos Corberan, WBA were in the play-off hunt, but they have fallen off in the second half of the campaign.

The Baggies are now in 10th place in the Championship and do not have a chance of finishing in the top six. This led to Tony Mowbray being sacked after just three months in charge, leaving them on the lookout for a new boss.

Now, it is claimed they could already have found their man in the form of a Championship rival.

Sky Sports are reporting that the representatives of QPR manager Marti Cifuentes has held talks with West Brom over a move to The Hawthorns.

The Spaniard, who arrived from Hammarby in November 2023, did an impressive job steering the Hoops to safety last season and aimed to build on that progress this year. Cifuentes is highly rated for his work in West London and it would not be a surprise if he had other suitors.

There have been rumours that Cifuentes could quit his job at QPR this summer having fallen out with chief executive Christian Nourry over a number of different matters.
