Done deal Everton on the back foot as West Ham submit £35m bid for 11-goal winger

Everton are still yet to make a signing this month.

The Toffees are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements as only Southampton have scored fewer goals than them this season.

Despite Everton’s 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur, David Moyes made it clear he needs signings and it’s understood the club are eyeing a number of targets across the continent.

Ernest Nuamah was discussed at Everton but it seems that deal is now on hold whilst Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka is admired by Moyes.

A jet-heeled winger had been identified in Turkey but now it seems West Ham have stolen a march on their Premier League rivals as a bid has gone in.

West Ham submit £25m bid for Baris Alper Yilmaz

Everton made contact to sign Baris Alper Yilmaz earlier this month after his sensational start to the season with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The jet-heeled wide player has netted 11 times in 28 outings and is attracting interest from the Premier League this month.

West Ham United are the latest club to show an interest in Yilmaz and according to Hurriyet, they’ve tabled a £25m bid.

The bid comprises a £21m offer up front with a further £4m in add-ons, so clearly Everton may struggle to match that given they still have PSR restrictions looming over them.

Anyhow, Galatasaray have rejected the approach and are intent on keeping him as they fight for three pieces of silverware.

Everton could pivot to Timothy Weah

With the Yilmaz deal looking extremely unlikely, Everton could turn to Timothy Weah, who they have included in their transfer targets.

The Toffees are keeping tabs on the Juventus winger but face competition from Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig.

Everton are reportedly ‘knocking on the door’ for Weah’s signature, so that deal could now accelerate after the Yilmaz deal collapses.
