Tottenham ‘making move to sign Eberechi Eze’ after Son Heung-min news
Tottenham are plotting a move to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window, according to their former scout.
Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout at Man United and Blackburn and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that the 26-year-old has been a long-term target for Ange Postecoglou.
Eze has struggled with injuries for Palace so far this season, but remains a crucial part of Oliver Glasner’s plans for the future at Selhurst Park.
However, Tottenham’s priority in the transfer market remains to strengthen their options in defense and defensive midfield, and any move for forwards will follow that objective.
The presence of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski in their side means the deal is not urgent as far as Spurs are concerned, but plans are in place to make a move.
On 9 February that Tottenham staff are concerned about Son Heung-min, and Eze is viewed as a potential replacement for him.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are reluctant to let their star man leave without a replacement lined up, while they also expect to lose England star Marc Guehi.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that Eze would be a good fit for Tottenham if they can get a deal over the line.
“I know he’s one Tottenham have been looking at for a while,” he reported
“Eze is very talented and he’d be a good fit for Tottenham under Postecoglou.
“Crystal Palace don’t want to lose him, though, he’s still a very important part of their side.
“For Spurs, they’ve got players like James Maddison and Kulusevski who play in his position and are prepared to run with the ball going forward.
“So they can cope without Eze in the meantime.
“They’ve always got some good technical players, but it’s not what they need right now.
“But when it comes to holding the fort, that’s where they’re lacking in numbers.
“I think they’re going to prioritise strengthening defensively with players at the back and in midfield before they focus on attacking talents.
“Then, when they’ve addressed those issues, I expect Eze will be a player they make a move for.
“There are doubts about Son at the moment, so I think they view Eze as potentially somebody who could give them something they’re missing.”
Ange Postecoglou eyes Tyler Dibling signing from Southampton
Tottenham have identified their wide attackers as an area that could be addressed in the summer transfer window, and are already considering a number of options.
Alongside a potential deal for Eze, Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham want to sign Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, who has impressed at St Mary’s this season.
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest talents at this level despite Southampton’s struggles to impress since their promotion from the Championship.
As a result, they are expecting to field interest for their star man if they are relegated, and Spurs are prepared to be at the front of the queue for his signature.
