Brad Marchand Absolutely Shreds Reporter Who Claims Bruins Locker Room Rift with David Pastrnak
On Friday morning, during his radio show on WEEI, Adam Jones made a claim based on a source about the Boston Bruins, stating that the team’s locker room was in disarray and that David Pastrnak was at the center of the issues. Such accusations often emerge when teams like the Bruins are struggling. However, after the Bruins’ practice on Friday afternoon in South Florida, ahead of their game against the Florida Panthers on Saturday, captain Brad Marchand addressed the claim, and he didn’t hold back.
Marchand vehemently denied the rumors, especially the suggestion of a rift between him and Pastrnak, which he found absurd. “I heard what was said in the media this morning,” Marchand said. “It’s unfortunate that reporters have a job to do, and that job is to report on the team, but usually it’s based on facts. When blatant lies are told, that’s where the issue lies. The fact that this guy has a platform and is just making things up is embarrassing. There’s absolutely no truth to what he said. This is how you lose your job quickly. That he still has a job after this is insane.”
Marchand continued, defending his relationship with Pastrnak: “Pasta and I are best friends. We’ve had an incredibly close relationship for a long time. The only reason we’re not playing together is to balance the lineup’s depth. There are zero issues in the room. This guy has no merit in anything he’s saying… From now on, this guy has no credibility. What he’s putting out there is ridiculous, embarrassing, and nothing he says in the future will be considered truthful because it’s all fabricated.”
Marchand ended his rant with a strong message: “This guy can go pound sand and go back to the closet where no one knew where he was before.”
If I’m guessing, Marchand won’t be joining that show anytime soon. Again, there are a number of issues that the Black and Gold are facing, but Marchand and Pastrnak’s friendship is not one of them.
