THE HARD TACKLE LINE UP: Tottenham needs to improve ahead of Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona attacking duo Ferran Torres and Raphinha in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal is reportedly interested in Barcelona’s Raphinha and Ferran Torres, according to a report from Fichajes. The two attackers could depart during the summer transfer window from the defending La Liga champions.
Raphinha has also been connected to teams like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. When the Brazilian international joined from Leeds United, Barcelona had to pay £50 million for him.
It is no secret that Arsenal needs more depth in their attacking lineup. Due to a lack of options, they have not been able to rotate players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka effectively. Raphinha can play on either flank because of his versatility, and Arsenal will be able to rotate their lineup more frequently with his arrival.
Conversely, despite his strong play this season, Ferran Torres has not been a frequent starter for Barcelona. He needs to progress to playing every week, and it will be intriguing to watch if Arsenal is willing to give him that chance.
The Spaniard may be tempted to return to the Premier League after previously playing for Manchester City. Raphinha, meanwhile, had played his finest football at Leeds United. He has performed admirably for Barcelona, but so far he has not been able to meet the high expectations.
Barcelona must sell the pair to get money.
Due to their financial difficulties, Barcelona is trying to raise money at the end of the current campaign. That they have decided to capitalize on Ferran Torres and Raphinha is not shocking. Since neither of them is a major player for them, the Spanish team will believe that they are easily replaceable.
It’s still unclear how things will turn out. Liverpool, however, will also want greater depth and skill in the white areas, particularly in the event that Mohamed Salah departs the team. Raphinha might also be a wise addition for them.
To contend for big championships, Tottenham needs a deeper roster, and it is unclear if they can defeat teams like Arsenal and Liverpool in order to get the Barcelona attacker.
Arsenal might benefit from both players in the future, but it’s still unclear if the Gunners can work out a fair deal with the Spanish team. Arsenal is vying for the Premier League crown, and they depend on elite players to regularly win significant trophies. In the upcoming weeks, they should make every effort to acquire the two players’ services.
