Pundits agree about Nottingham Forest prediction ahead of West Ham
Pundits Chris Sutton, Paul Merson and Robbie Savage have all delivered their predictions ahead of Nottingham Forest’s trip to the London Stadium.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., Forest will try to build on their 2-0 victory against Aston Villa against West Ham. They have only triumphed once in their last six games away from home, despite their undefeated record at the City Ground.
That victory occurred in September at Stamford Bridge versus Chelsea. Despite the fact that the Hammers have lost their previous four league games, David Moyes’ team is expected to turn things around.
Both Sutton and Savage predicted a 2-1 win for the hosts.
“It’s four league defeats in a row now for West Ham and they are falling away a bit after starting the season so well,” Sutton told the BBC. Although they haven’t been playing all that poorly, David Moyes has taken issue with the manner they have let up goals that have cost them in games.
“But I really think they’re going to steal this one.Although Nottingham Forest’s road performance has significantly improved, they should aim to keep things close, but West Ham will manage to win.”
Sutton’s prediction: West Ham 2-1 Nottingham Forest.
“While their home form kept them up last season, no team has lost more games in the Premier League away from home since the start of last season than Nottingham Forest – 17,” Savage said to teamTALK in the meanwhile. This will be 18, in my opinion. West Ham is strong at home.
“I believe that under David Moyes, they must triumph. Thus, I believe that although both teams will score, West Ham will prevail.”
Savage’s prediction: West Ham 2-1 Nottingham Forest.
Merson thinks Forest won’t score at the London Stadium in other places. He told Sportsskeeda, “West Ham United are on a bad run right now.”
“Considering how strong they appeared to be a few weeks ago, that’s very strange. In their last five games in all competitions, they have suffered four losses. Despite their recent dip, I’m going to side with the Hammers in this one.
They haven’t been able to break the recent losing streak of games. However, they should use this matchup versus Forest to help their season get back on track. The Hammers are still, in my opinion, playing well enough to defeat Steve Cooper’s team.
“With Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez returning to the mix, they should be able to cruise to a comfortable win here.”
Merson’s prediction: West Ham 2-0 Nottingham Forest.
