Ange says 22-year-old Tottenham gem is ‘getting stronger’ in training; could now play on Monday

Bryan Gil has received praise from Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, who claims that he may be “really important” for Spurs.

The 22-year-old has been “working really hard” in training, according to the Tottenham manager, who also hinted that he would play next week.

On Monday night, when they visit Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs will resume Premier League play.

The Lilywhites then face a rapid turnaround as they travel to Crystal Palace on Friday night, just four days later.

Gil, who missed the beginning of the Spurs’ season because of a groin ailment that necessitated surgery, is now available.

The Spaniard was on the bench during Tottenham’s win at Luton before the international break, but didn’t get on.

‘Great for us’

Now that there are two games in the next five days, Postecoglou will probably employ every member of his team to the fullest.

The Spurs manager is already without Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic because of injuries.

The Tottenham boss responded, “He can be really important for us,” when asked what part Gil might play in the upcoming months.

“He’s one, like I said, and the last couple of weeks have been terrific having him work so hard in the gym.

“He has been absent for the entirety of this campaign, and it has been widely documented that we lost Ivan and Manor, who play that left-wing position. It’s excellent for us that Bryan is healthy and available once more.

He will eventually be presented with an opportunity, at which point it will be up to him, so I guess he’s in the same boat as everyone else.

He unquestionably possesses the qualifications and abilities to play in that position for us. As I previously mentioned, his training is improving now that he is a member of the team, and I am confident that he will be given the chance.

We have a Monday night game and a Friday night game after it, so we’ll likely need most of the team to play in those two games within the next five or six days.

Gil’s performance under Postecoglou will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipated by Tottenham fans in particular.

The talented 22-year-old youngster has shown flashes of his talent before.

Gil was once referred to as a “little superstar” by Graham Roberts when he first joined the club.

Gil later left on loan, and his future at Spurs appeared to be in doubt for a spell.

But now that Postecoglou is in charge, the winger should have another opportunity to shine at N17.
