According to reports, SA Rugby has offered R250,000 per player for the fixture, but the franchises are pushing back, arguing that the proposed fee is insufficient.

Talks reportedly began with the franchises requesting around R500,000 per player, citing the fact that the Wales Test falls outside World Rugby’s international window. That means they will be without key players for crucial URC matches on the same weekend.

The Bulls and Lions meet at Loftus on 29 November, with the Stormers and Sharks in Ireland for matches against Munster and Connacht respectively.
