Just In: Bok trio to tour with Stormers

The Stormers will get a much-needed boost ahead of their three-match Vodacom URC European tour, with some big names making their way back into the squad.

Stormers coach John Dobson confirmed on Wednesday that he will have three Springboks available to him as they head off on tour next week.
Scrumhalf Cobus Reinach, flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and fullback Damian Willemse will link up with the squad upon completion of their international duties against Argentina at Twickenham on Saturday.
Credit to them for wanting to join us as soon as possible,” Dobson said. “Especially after what should hopefully be the high of winning the Rugby Championship on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s quite nice for a coach when you watch your flyhalf play like that [against Argentina in Durban] and then knowing that he’s coming back here.”
Dobson also confirmed that some of his injured Boks like lock Salmaan Moerat, prop Ntuthuko Mchunu and flank Deon Fourie will also be back during various stages of the overseas tour.
The Stormers kick off their tour in Wales against the Scarlets on 10 October, followed by a double-header in Italy against Zebre and Benetton.
Coach John Dobson insists the Stormers won’t be lulled into complacency with the Ospreys looming, despite last week’s Leinster demolition
The Cape side play their second consecutive home game on Friday after a statement 35-0 win over the defending champions, but it’s against one of the few teams they have a negative record against.
The Stormers have suffered two losses and a draw against the Welsh outfit in the last three seasons, and Dobson says his chargers are eager to turn that around.
It would be a concern had it not been for the fact that we saw how well the Ospreys played in Pretoria [against the Vodacom Bulls]. We know our record against the Ospreys over the last three games is a draw, loss, loss so that’s not really a recipe for complacency.
“The feeling is one of desperation to back up last week, because you don’t want it to be a fluke – you want it to be who we are.”
