Two Boks in doubt for Pumas double-header as The Springboks’ historic win over the All Blacks in Wellington has come at a price
The Springboks’ historic win over the All Blacks in Wellington has come at a price.

Several players were forced off the field in the Boks’ 43-10 demolition of the All Blacks due to injuries and head-injury assessments, mostly in the backline.
Lood de Jager, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Aphelele Fassi, Cheslin Kolbe and Cobus Reinach all left the field, with only Reinach returning after passing his HIA.
Rassie Erasmus confirmed that the injuries to De Jager and Fassi “appear to be serious” with the extent of the damage only known after further medical checks.
Meanwhile, Erasmus praised Springbok supporters for their faith in the team and the coaching staff after naming a new look backline for the clash, and said he was thrilled that the team could make the country proud once again.
“The main thing for us going into this game was to get the belief in the team back again, and we are back at No 1 in the world, but we know we are going to face two tough matches against Argentina, who have really been playing well,” said Erasmus.
Erasmus also emphasised the role of the senior players in the group who stood by the younger players and helped them get ready for the Wellington showdown.
“We’re getting better. The way the guys who didn’t play last week really helped prepare the younger guys, was good to see. The next game’s result will show us where we really are.”
Erasmus says while the world now caught a glimpse of what the future of Springbok rugby looks like, he has a squad of highly-motivated players.
“We’re a group of 45 players and these were just the guys playing tonight. Of course, they put up their hands but we’ve got some solid guys who didn’t play tonight. So we’re very proud.
