Just In: Lock swaps Bulls for Sharks
A second rower was spotted training with the Sharks this week having left the Vodacom Bulls

According to reports, Marvin Orie has signed with the Sharks until June 2026 after a short spell in Pretoria.
The 32-year-old joined the Bulls from French club Perpignan just over two months ago, featuring in the Currie Cup, but has already linked up with his new teammates in Durban.
Orie, who has 16 Test caps and was part of the Springboks’ 2023 World Cup-winning squad, recently picked up a thumb injury that kept him out of the Bulls’ final Currie Cup match against the Cheetahs in Pretoria, but is expected to be fit in time for the Vodacom URC.
Bulls coach Johan Ackermann told Rapport that the decision to release Orie was made out of respect for the player.
“We wanted to be fair to Marvin. He joined us and contributed incredibly. His attitude towards the young guys was great and he helped Phiwe [Nomlomo] and the other coaches as well.
“And to be honest, we knew we wouldn’t be able to keep him beyond the Currie Cup. We did the honourable thing by letting him go and join the Sharks. It would have been unfair of us to keep him here.”
