Jaco van der Walt starts at flyhalf for the Vodacom Bulls in Saturday’s Currie Cup match against the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld.

The in-form Boeta Chamberlain shifts to fullback in place of the injured Henry Immelman, with Springbok Aphiwe Dyantyi given his first start of the season in the No 14 jersey.

Up front, Juann Else comes in for the injured Joe van Zyl at hooker.

In a further nod to youth, Nomlomo has named three debutants on the bench in hooker Esethu Mnebelele, prop Ruan Swart and loose forward JJ Theron.

The Bulls began their Currie Cup campaign with a 48-23 win against Western Province in Cape Town last weekend, while the Sharks suffered a heavy 46-5 defeat to the Lions at Ellis Park.

BULLS – 15 Boeta Chamberlain, 14 Aphiwe Dyantyi, 13 Stedman Gans, 12 Chris Barend Smit, 11 Stravino Jacobs, 10 Jaco van der Walt, 9 Zak Burger, 8 Jeandre Rudolph, 7 Junior Pokomela, 6 Nama Xaba, 5 Marvin Orie, 4 Sintu Manjezi, 3 Francois Klopper, 2 Juann Else, 1 Dylan Smith.
Bench: 16 Esethu Mnebelele, 17 Ruan Swart, 18 Jean Erasmus, 19 Dylan de Leeuw, 20 JJ Theron, 21 Steven Nel, 22 PA van Niekerk, 23 Cornel Smit.

Coach JP Pietersen believes the youngsters will inject some much-needed firepower as they look to ambush the Bulls at Loftus.

“The time is ripe for the youngsters to make the step up into Currie Cup rugby,” said Pietersen.

“Their recent achievements on the world stage will no doubt add firepower.”

Williams replaces Khuthi Rasivhaga on the wing and brings try-scoring instincts and blistering pace to the backline. Moyo, who top-scored with 63 points overall at the championships including 13 in the final against New Zealand, is an exciting inclusion on the bench. Known for his goal-kicking and physicality at flyhalf, Moyo’s potential debut adds intrigue to Saturday’s clash. Hard-running centre Bester and scrumhalf Everson could also possibly feature off the bench.
