College Football World Mourns Death of SEC Freshman on Saturday Night

The college football world woke up to some devastating news on Sunday morning, with reports emerging that Ole Miss Rebels freshman linebacker Corey Adams had passed away after being shot and killed in Tennessee on Saturday night.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the New Orleans native was found following a shooting in Cordova, Tennessee. There is an ongoing homicide investigation regarding the incident, which left four others hospitalized.
Adams was set to begin his true-freshman season in a matter of weeks with the Rebels as a member of the 2025 signing class. At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, Adams was a 3-star recruit, per 247Sports, rated as the No. 74 defensive lineman in the nation. He chose Ole Miss over the likes of the LSU Tigers, TCU Horned Frogs, and USC Trojans.
