“What a heart break” Fulham Key defender undergoes surgery following end of Premier League season

Fulham have revealed that key defender Antonee Robinson has undergone minor surgery following the end of the Premier League season.

Robinson started 35 of his 36 Premier League appearances in 2024-25, setting up 10 goals to finish joint fourth in the Premier League assists chart.

The left-back missed two of the final five Premier League games due to injury, although he was able to play the full duration of Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at Craven Cottage.

However, Fulham have now announced that Robinson underwent a knee operation just two days after the final game of the Premier League campaign.

Fulham confirm Robinson knee surgery

In a statement released on Wednesday, Fulham said: “Antonee Robinson underwent successful minor surgery to his right knee yesterday and will now begin a period of rehabilitation to be ready for the start of next season.

“We wish Antonee all the best during his recovery in the close season.”

Fulham did not provide a timeframe for Robinson’s rehabilitation period, although they will hope that he can recover in time for the start of pre-season.

The Cottagers will also be keen to ward off any transfer interest, having seen Robinson linked with a potential move away from the club.

Robinson, who joined Fulham in 2020, still has three years left to run on the long-term deal that he signed in the summer of 2023.

Will Robinson’s injury affect USA national team?

Robinson is usually one of the key players for the national side, having contributed four goals and eight assists in 50 appearances for the USA.

However, his injury will not have an impact on the USA’s plans for this summer after he was left out of the squad for this summer’s Gold Cup

The Stars and Stripes will begin their Gold Cup campaign with a game against Trinidad and Tobago on June 15, before they conclude the group phase with matches against Saudi Arabia and Haiti.
