Crystal Palace Want to Sign ‘Powerful’ Star for Oliver Glasner

Crystal Palace Target Lens Midfielder Andy Diouf

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing Lens midfielder Andy Diouf this summer, according to Foot Mercato. The 22-year-old has attracted attention from several clubs, including Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, following a solid season in Ligue 1.

Diouf made 34 appearances for Lens across all competitions this season, scoring once and providing two assists. His passing accuracy stands at 82.3%, and his average match rating is 6.5, according to WhoScored.

With Lens undergoing major changes—especially after the departure of manager Will Still, who has returned to England to manage Southampton—Diouf’s future at the club is uncertain. This situation could open the door for a potential move to the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are looking to strengthen their squad after finishing in the bottom half of the league table, despite their FA Cup triumph over Manchester City. Under manager Oliver Glasner, the club is focusing on young, high-potential talents with strong resale value, a category Diouf clearly fits into.

Described as a “powerful” midfielder by football analyst Ben Mattinson, Diouf combines physical presence with solid technical skills. While still developing, he has shown the kind of promise that aligns with Palace’s recent recruitment strategy.

If Palace secure his signature, it would not only strengthen their midfield options but also continue their trend of investing in Europe’s emerging talents as they aim for a top-half Premier League finish next season.
