BVB Ready to Spend €30 Million for Jobe Bellingham
Having just won the English Championship, Jobe Bellingham will have to choose to accept BVB’s offer
Borussia Dortmund are prepared to spend €30 million to acquire the services of Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of former BVB midfielder Jude Bellingham, from Sunderland AFC.Statistically, midfielders with the last name Bellingham and a four-letter name that starts with a J have been pretty good. Jobe might not have the same plaudits that his brother Jude carried when he came to Dortmund, but he nevertheless brings tons of promise. For a 19-year just to make the starting XI and play 3,500 minutes in the Championship on a title-winning club is very impressive. Much like Jude, he’s an absolute unit, physically strong, willing to handle defensive responsibilities, and still retaining the technical ability to play as a #10 at times. He would certainly bolster BVB’s midfield. The same Bild report claims that Dortmund plan on sliding him into the starting XI right away.
Jobe has just achieved promotion to the English Premier League with Sunderland, so it’s not confirmed that he’s actually chosen to leave yet, but it is looking very likely that this will be the case. Barring some swoop in from another Premier League team, Dortmund’s higher-ups seem to be confident that they’ll get their man.
