Mathias Kvistgaarden all but confirms summer move away from Brondby

Mathias Kvistgaarden is a name that doesn’t go away when it comes to Celtic transfers.

Kvistgaarden almost joined Celtic in January and has been impressing in Denmark with Brondby.

The forward has 17 goals in 28 league games this season and is preparing for his final match of the 24/25 season this weekend, but has hinted this will be the last time he plays for the club.

He told Danish outlet Sport TV2: “I think I’m ready. I’ve made my mark in Brondby and in the Superliga, so I’m ready to take the next step.

“It can never be ruled out… I don’t think that’s the goal for me. I can say that without it being wrong, I think.

“I’m in a situation where I have no idea whether I’ll be living in Denmark or in another country in three months. It will be exciting to see what happens, and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Every Danish player to play for Celtic

Celtic already know that they would be getting their hands on an extremely gifted 23-year-old if he does make the move to Parkhead, and he would be following in the footsteps of some brilliant Danish footballers.

If he joins, Kvistgaarden will become the 11th player of Danish heritage to play for the club.
