Air T-Mac: Panthers rookie Tetairoa McMillan signs with Jordan Brand
The former Wildcat and first-round pick by the Carolina Panthers was officially announced as the latest addition to Jordan Brand on Thursday.
McMillan joins Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, Los Angeles Rams wide receivers Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, Washington Commanders receiver Deebo Samuel, Super Bowl MVP quarterback Jalen Hurts, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, among others, as NFL players signed to Jordan Brand.
McMillan is the only NFL rookie signed with Jordan Brand, a sub-brand of Nike, which is worth $6.4 billion.
“To me, the Jumpman (logo) represents more than athletic excellence—it embodies a mindset that I am carrying with me to Carolina,” McMillan said in a released statement.
“Jordan Brand stands for breaking barriers and never settling for anything less than greatness. That philosophy resonates deeply with how I approach the game. This partnership isn’t just about what I can gain, it’s about what we’ll build together and the path we’ll create for those coming after me.”
After establishing itself as a prominent brand in basketball, Jordan Brand signed NBA superstars over the years, including Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Luka Doncic, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and Zion Williamson, among others. Former UA point guard Mike Bibby was a Jordan Brand ambassador during his NBA career.
McMillan, who recently concluded rookie minicamp in Charlotte, signed a four-year, $27.93 million contract with the Panthers.
Carolina opens the NFL season against Travis Hunter and the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 7. McMillan and Tucson native and former Ohio State safety Lathan Ransom, who was selected in the fourth round by the Panthers, return to Arizona to play the Cardinals on Sept. 14 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
