Six flip targets for Texas A&M football in the 2026 cycle

Texas A&M has already pulled off one notable flip this spring, flipping Top247 cornerback Victor Singleton from Illinois last month. The Aggies are off to a strong start in the 2026 class with the No. 6 class nationally and 11 pledges in the fold currently.
The Aggies have seen some key targets head elsewhere this spring though but the A&M staff is certainly not panicking with the Early Signing Period still several months away.
Last cycle, Texas A&M pulled off severable notable flips including Lamont Rogers, Rashad Johnson and Jamarion Morrow. Texas A&M remains in pursuit of several flip targets heading into the summer months as Mike Elko and Co. look to add to a top-10 class.
With official visits around the corner, GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley looks at six notable flip targets for Texas A&M in the 2026 cycle.
Let’s dive into it!
Texas A&M wide receiver will transfer to Sacramento State
Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver group has been significantly bolstered by the additions of KC Concepcion, Mario Craver, and Jonah Wilson from the transfer portal.
Freshman wide receiver Ernest Campbell, also a track and field athlete, has entered the transfer portal.
Campbell’s decision to transfer is reportedly motivated by a desire for more playing time.
Campbell, known for his speed, is transferring to Sacramento State.
Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver room is completely revamped after the transfer portal additions of KC Concepcion, Mario Craver, and Jonah Wilson, who, combined with Terry Bussey, Izaiah Williams, and Ashton Bethel-Roman, have the potential to greatly improve the 2025 passing offense behind the arm of starting quarterback Marcel Reed.
With these new additions, it was almost guaranteed that at least one, or two wide receivers would enter the portal, leading to the news that track & field star and freshman WR Ernest Campbell decided to play elsewhere in 2025. A member of the 2024 recruiting class, Campbell’s size, mainly his 145-pound frame was an issue, but his elite speed intrigued the Aggies coaching staff, who saw him as a potential return threat on special teams.
However, Campbell’s success on the track outweighed his time with the football program, as his decision to enter the transfer portal had more to do with getting on the field. Like many former top recruits, including quarterback Jaden Rashada, Campbell is set to transfer west to Sacramento State, one of the up-and-coming programs, especially for talented players who want to get on the field.
Nicknamed “Flash,” Campbell’s future is still bright if he adds more muscle mass to his frame to prevent injury, and could end up being a productive deep threat in the passing game combined with his obvious special teams advantage as a kick/punt returner.
